On December 14, 2024, I traveled from Ankara to Istanbul for Turkish Airlines flight TK712 to Dhaka. Upon arriving in Istanbul, I was informed that my flight to Dhaka was delayed by 7 hours. The flight, originally scheduled for 7:00 PM, was rescheduled to 1:30 AM. However, no explanation for this delay was provided, nor did any staff member give me any detailed information about the situation. When I inquired about my legal rights, such as hotel accommodation and compensation, I received no answers. Instead, I was simply handed a coupon and told I had a meal allowance. Yet, there was no clarification regarding how or where I could use this allowance, whether for hot meals, beverages, or cold snacks. It is utterly unacceptable for a company of Turkish Airlines’ caliber to disregard its passengers in this manner. Due to this unplanned and entirely avoidable delay, I missed a critical business tender in Dhaka. The delay also caused me to lose money on prepaid hotel bookings and car rental services. I demand full reimbursement for these expenses as well as compensation for the financial and emotional distress caused by this experience. It is extremely disappointing that Turkish Airlines has handled this situation so poorly, leaving its passengers completely unsupported. I demand that my rightful compensation and refunds for incurred expenses be provided immediately. If this matter is not resolved, I will not hesitate to pursue all available legal avenues to seek redress.
