Turkish Airlines Inadequate Information and Unjustified Baggage Issue
On March 8, 2024, I traveled to Turkey on flight TK 7729 from Berlin to SAW. Upon arrival, I learned that my suitcase had never been loaded onto the plane in Berlin and was left behind. The ground staff informed me that my suitcase would only be delivered the next day and that if I did not come to the airport to collect it, it would be sent via courier in a few days. Despite staying in Turkey for only 2 days, my suitcase was delivered to me approximately 12 hours before my return flight. I had to travel about 50 km to the airport to collect it myself.
When collecting my suitcase, I was asked to sign a document acknowledging receipt, which included a clause stating that I waived my right to complain about delays or similar issues. I crossed out this clause before signing and collecting my suitcase. Due to your operational incompetence, my suitcase was not transported, and I was forced to waive my right to complain by signing a mandatory receipt document.
Because my work laptop was in the suitcase, I missed two very important meetings, which will have consequences for my career. Additionally, all my hygiene products and clothes were left in Berlin, forcing me to spend about 2 days without changing clothes or performing personal care.
As if forgetting my suitcase wasn't enough, the ticket I purchased from https://www.turkishairlines.com/tr-int/ was operated by SmartLynx Airlines, a carrier I had never heard of, without any prior warning or information (as shown in the attached document). Despite trusting the reputation of THY and paying a premium price, I would have preferred to be informed in advance that I would not be flying with THY.
How do you plan to compensate for the multiple grievances I experienced despite trusting your reputation? I am a frequent traveler on this route and will continue to be, so why should I continue to fly with you? I am writing this solely to inform you. My pursuit of justice will continue on other platforms.
