I want to share the severe and double hardship I experienced at the hands of Turkish Airlines.
On June 20, 2024, I boarded flight TK0382 from Istanbul to Tbilisi at 13:30. After reaching Tbilisi, due to weather conditions, we landed at Trabzon Airport around 17:00. Up to this point, everything was understandable.
However, the ordeal began upon arrival. Firstly, we were not allowed to disembark, the air conditioning was turned off, and we were not permitted to stand near the open airplane door. This situation lasted for half an hour. Then, we were told that the plane would refuel and return to Tbilisi. This was the first and last piece of information given, but it turned out to be misleading, incorrect, and false: After this announcement, we waited another hour, and at 18:30, we were told that the plane had to return to Istanbul.
During this time, despite our requests, no food was provided, and our rights were not explained. The only announcement made was 'if anyone has a complaint, they can contact customer service.' No information was given about what would happen once we returned to Istanbul. When we asked questions, we were told 'we don't know, ask when you get there.'
Even though the information about returning to Istanbul was given at 18:30, the plane did not take off until 19:30, and we were made to wait on the plane for another hour. No food was provided during this time either.
The plane took off at 20:00. Upon arriving in Istanbul, we were initially told that we would fly to Tbilisi on a new flight at 21:45. We were not allowed to board this flight, TK6931, because there were no boarding passes. It took two hours to print the boarding passes. This flight took off at 00:00.
There was no information provided at Istanbul Airport, and the staff spoke rudely. When we landed in Tbilisi, it was 3:00 AM. Our landing coincided with a large plane arriving from India. As a result, instead of being at the hotel at 18:00 on June 20, we arrived at 6:00 AM on June 21.
I have not yet received a response to my complaint. We were treated very poorly and are still not being treated like human beings.
