Turkish Airlines Flight Delay Ruined My Tour Plans
We had planned a Montenegro holiday starting from Istanbul with a flight on July 27, 2023, at 19:00. We bought two tickets for the 14:50 THY flight from Ankara to Istanbul on the same day. The flight was delayed without any explanation. Initially, it was postponed to 15:20, then 15:30, and finally to 16:00. Despite the 16:00 reschedule, the flight departed at 16:40 and landed in Istanbul around 17:50. Due to waiting for buses to fill up, being taken to the wrong place at the airport despite asking for directions, we reached the counter at 18:10 and were told we missed our flight by 10 minutes. There was also a 15:55 THY flight that day which departed earlier than ours. Because of THY's delay without any reason, we missed our tour for which we paid €600 per person. The next day, there was a THY flight to Podgorica at 7:55, but they said they couldn't help us despite explaining we were late because of them, and the ticket price was ₺22,000 per person. We had to stay in Istanbul throughout the tour duration because of THY, and the tour company refused to refund as there was no issue on their end. We request THY to assist us due to the inconvenience caused and the loss of our tour money.
