On Friday, August 4th, I had a flight booked with THY from Adana to Istanbul, scheduled to depart at 16:10. Initially, we received a notification of a 30-minute delay, which we thought was manageable. However, the delay extended by another hour, and eventually, the flight was rescheduled multiple times until it was finally set for 23:40. What should have been a one-and-a-half-hour journey turned into an eight-hour ordeal. Despite being one of the world's largest airlines, THY couldn't arrange for an alternative aircraft, citing a lack of available planes and crew. This led to 250 passengers being significantly inconvenienced, with many missing connecting flights and arriving late to their destinations. Passengers with sick children and elderly individuals had to endure long hours of waiting at the airport.
