Turkish Airlines Flight Cancellation Due to War Concerns
On October 9, 2023, I purchased tickets for the Istanbul-Sharm El Sheikh / Sharm El Sheikh-Istanbul flights with reservation code RBDG7H through the Turkish Airlines website. However, due to the ongoing war between Israel and Gaza and the incidents at the borders of Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon, I want to cancel these flights because my safety is at risk. We chose this trip for our honeymoon, and we do not want to spend our honeymoon with the anxiety of something happening to us. We want to cancel these tickets because we do not want to find ourselves suddenly in the middle of a war. However, when I try to cancel through the application, I am only refunded ₺3413 out of the ₺14941 I paid for the tickets. Since we are already under a significant financial burden due to the wedding, we do not want to lose so much money for a trip we cannot take. I hope Turkish Airlines will approach us with understanding in this process and request a full refund by canceling our tickets.
