Worldline Ingenico Disables iPP220 Pinpad via Remote Update to Force Hardware Upgrades

On August 29, 2026, Worldline / Ingenico pushed a remote software update to our Ingenico iDE280 cash register POS and paired iPP220 Pinpad. Immediately following this update, our fully functional iPP220 Pinpad was completely disabled. Both units belong to the exact same brand ecosystem and have operated seamlessly together for years without hardware flaws.

Upon requesting technical support, the dispatched field technician verbally confirmed that the new software update deliberately cut support for the iPP220 Pinpad, rendering it unusable. Treating an original Ingenico accessory as if it were an incompatible third-party device is completely unjustified. Intentionally bricking functional hardware via remote software updates to force merchants into purchasing new equipment constitutes unfair commercial practices and planned obsolescence.

Over the past three days, our checkout operations have suffered significant bottlenecks due to this forced defect. I refuse to accept software-driven hardware cancellation for functional equipment that we rely on daily.

I demand that Worldline / Ingenico immediately roll back or patch the software to reactivate our iPP220 Pinpad, or provide a non-fee replacement solution that restores full payment functionality. I request corporate representatives to contact me promptly via Şikayetvar or through my registered phone and email details.
