Turkish Airlines Flight Cancellation and Hotel Charge Issue
I purchased a ticket for my 8-year-old daughter from Turkish Airlines for a flight on 20.05.2024. As her mother, I was not a passenger; my daughter was supposed to travel alone. However, the Mardin-Istanbul flight scheduled for 14:05 was canceled after hours of delay. After the cancellation, we were informed that she could take the flight at the same time the next day and stay overnight at a hotel partnered with Turkish Airlines for free. Since we came from afar and had no place to stay, I had no choice but to place my daughter in the hotel. However, I couldn't leave an eight-year-old child alone in a hotel, so I had to stay there as well. Despite explaining my situation and stating that the passenger was an eight-year-old child, Turkish Airlines charged me for the hotel. When I requested a refund, they refused, stating that I was not a passenger. Would I choose Turkish Airlines again? Never.
