Long Car Ignored My Requests and Refused to Explain a Deposit Deduction

Between January 20, 2026, and January 27, 2026, I rented a vehicle for seven days from Long Car in Antalya. I paid approximately $89 for the rental itself. In addition, a security deposit of approximately $1,423 was charged to my credit card, and I was clearly informed that the full deposit would be refunded after the vehicle was returned.
I delivered the vehicle back to the company in proper condition and without any issues. Despite this, I had to make numerous phone calls over the following weeks to inquire about my deposit. After approximately one month, only about $1,400 of the deposit was returned to me. The remaining approximately $23 was withheld.
What is most concerning is that no reasonable explanation has ever been provided regarding this deduction. I repeatedly asked why part of my deposit was being retained, but I did not receive a clear answer. When I stated over the phone that I was considering pursuing legal action to recover the withheld amount, I was met with an extremely dismissive response and was simply told, “Go ahead.”
Because I currently reside in Elazığ, all communication regarding this issue has been conducted by phone. I have retained my bank records and the rental agreement I signed, and I am prepared to provide these documents if necessary.
I request the immediate refund of the approximately $23 that was unfairly withheld from my deposit. I also ask that the company's handling of this matter, including the unprofessional and disrespectful responses I received, be reviewed and investigated. A customer who returns a vehicle without incident should not have to spend weeks chasing a refund or fighting to receive a clear explanation regarding their own money.
