On January 4, 2024, I had a flight with Turkish Airlines (PNR code: tzssfu) from Batman to Izmir with a layover in Ankara, traveling with my 8-month-old baby. The flight from Batman to Ankara was slightly delayed, and as a result, the connecting flight TK7016 from Ankara to Izmir, associated with ticket number 2352213014808, departed without us, as if the delay was our fault.
Upon landing in Ankara, we were informed that the flight to Izmir had left without us. My baby and I were left alone and helpless at Ankara Esenboga Airport. We were forced to purchase another ticket (2352213306974) for a connecting flight from Ankara to Istanbul, and then from Istanbul to Izmir, with a departure time of 22:55 and an arrival time of 03:25.
Did you notice the times? Imagine, in this cold winter season, during the late hours when my baby should be sleeping, we were stranded until 4 AM. We reached home at 04:00. Can you understand this? My baby was miserable. Isn’t it unfair to this innocent child? It was known that I had a connecting flight to Izmir, and it was known that the flight from Batman to Ankara was delayed. It was also known that I was traveling with a baby. Yet, the Ankara-Izmir flight left right in front of our eyes.
Turkish Airlines officials offered to place us in a hotel and suggested we travel the next day. Think logically, what could I do alone in a hotel with my baby? One hand holding the luggage, the other holding the stroller, and dealing with my distressed baby's cries. Have some empathy.
This is not the first time Turkish Airlines has caused such issues. They repeatedly inconvenience passengers. They never stand by their passengers, never apologize, and never address the inconvenience caused. All they care about is money. Will money save you in the afterlife?
