Turkish Airlines Damaged My Luggage and Delayed Delivery Without Compensation

On 24.09.2022, I traveled from Ankara-Esenboga Airport to Istanbul Airport with flight TK 2111, then from Istanbul to Mugla-Dalaman Airport with flight TK 2554, and finally from there to London-Gatwick Airport with flight TK 1121. While waiting for the luggage, I realized that my baggage was missing. Since there was no THY office or personnel, I went to Cardiff, where I was going to stay. It was my first time in England, and I had no belongings with me, which put me in a very difficult situation. After approximately 7-8 hours without any response from THY, my family went to Esenboga Airport and found out that my baggage was left in Istanbul. They arranged for it to be sent on the next day's flight. On 25.09.2022, my baggage arrived at London-Gatwick Airport, but the staff there did not deliver it to me without a THY representative. Since there was no THY personnel again, I sought help from the call center, but no one responded. As a result, I had to stay at the airport for a day. I finally received my baggage on 26.09.2022, and it was broken. After a 5-month struggle, THY rejected my claim, but I received compensation for the damaged baggage. However, I also claimed for my mandatory expenses through their system. I went to England on a scholarship, and because they forgot my baggage and sent it later, I had to travel from Cardiff to London. To avoid another trip, I stayed at the airport. Most of my scholarship went to training expenses. The exchange rate difference put me in a difficult financial situation. Despite multiple compensation requests to THY, I was rejected each time. Although I did not fault a passenger, I faced numerous financial and emotional difficulties due to THY's staff and processes. Even though I only requested reimbursement for mandatory expenses, the corporate firm did not assist me. I applied to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and received a positive result, but the payment has still not been made, and the exchange rate difference has doubled. As a student, I am complaining about THY for the train expenses, which are a small amount for the company, but have caused me a year-long ordeal.
