Despite arriving at the airport at 5:00 AM for our 6:15 AM flight to Gazipasa with Turkish Airlines on August 14th, we were unable to check in due to my wife's surname change. When we went directly to the Turkish Airlines domestic check-in, we were put in a long queue. By the time it was our turn, we had 37 minutes left, and the staff couldn't assist us. They directed us to the ticket service. When we went back to the operations unit, we had 22 minutes left. There was an important honeymoon couple who were allowed to board with 25 minutes remaining. However, when it was our turn, there were 20 minutes left until the flight, and they said they couldn't do anything.
Should I be angry at the staff's lack of knowledge or the misdirection? They took one day of my 5-day vacation and instead of apologizing and fixing the issue, they offered me a ticket for the night of August 14th to 15th and charged me for it. This treatment of customers is unacceptable. They should not pass on their staffing issues to customers. By the way, I can say that there are many complaints of this nature.
Paying for a taxi late at night, the cost of returning home, coming back again at night, and additional charges for the flight ticket is not fair. Despite arriving at Gazipasa Airport on time, they didn't allow boarding, and the flight departed 20 minutes late. If there are rules and laws, they should be consistent everywhere. Making us wait but not allowing us to board is unfair. I want my rights.
