Turkish Airlines Charges for Seat Selection Despite Available Adjacent Seats
While trying to check in for my Turkish Airlines flight, I encountered an issue where, despite being on the same PNR, my 3.5-year-old daughter and I were not automatically seated together, even though there were available adjacent seats. Instead, we were both assigned separate single seats with occupied adjacent seats, forcing me to pay an additional fee to choose seats next to each other.
This is not the first time I’ve faced this issue. Last year, when my daughter was 2.5 years old, she was seated separately from both me and my spouse on a flight, and the airline failed to accommodate us by seating her next to one of us. It’s disappointing that Turkish Airlines would resort to such tactics to charge extra fees, especially when it involves the safety and comfort of a young child. This practice is unacceptable, and I request that this issue be addressed so that families can travel together without being forced to pay additional fees.
