Turkish Airlines Charged Extra €150 for Flight Change – Unjustified Fees Must Be Refunded

On 23.10.2023, I had to put on hold a €250 ticket I purchased from Turkish Airlines (THY) for my father-in-law, flying from Ankara Esenboğa Airport to Frankfurt Main Airport, as his visa did not come through. Later, when I wanted to use this ticket for a flight in November 2024, the THY call center informed me that the cost would exceed €250, and an additional €150 service fee would be applied.
After a frustrating 1.5-hour call with two different representatives, they continuously repeated that the total would be €400 (€250 + €150), failing to adequately explain why the fee had increased. They claimed it was a processing fee for changing the ticket. When I asked if I could make the change myself, I was told that only they could handle it and couldn’t justify the extra €150 charge.
I strongly condemn THY for this unfair practice and refuse to pay the unjustified €150 fee.
