Turkish Airline Changed My Seat Although I Paid Extra For That Seat
I had a negative experience with THY on 10.11.2023 14:35 on the flight I made on 10.11.2023 14:35 with the reservation code TM YIAK and found out that the seat I had chosen by paying an additional fee had been changed. Moreover, although I had paid, I was not given the right to choose a second seat. I understand that my seat selection may have been canceled due to a compulsory situation; however, it is unacceptable that I was not given the chance to make a second choice. What is the point of paying the extra fee if I have to sit in a seat of your choice? plus, when I want to buy another seat by paying extra, I cannot do so. I will complain about this situation to all relevant authorities, especially CIMER. I think that such arbitrary practices should not exist.

This is precisely the same thing that happened with me, three consecutive times. You purchased a seat open for pre-selection upon booking your flight, and receive a confirmation. Three days before the flight, Turkish Airlines sends you an email saying that your seat has been changed for "operational reasons." The Terms and Conditions of their seat purchases do in fact say they have the right to change seats for operational reasons. They are not transparent with what they mean by operational reasons. When you open to select another seat, you notice that the seat you previously purchased is NOT occupied, but now open to be purchased AGAIN. Which means they are making two different customers pay for the same seat, telling the first who paid for it that it changed for operational reasons, to free it up so that another customer can buy it. It is absolutely outrageous.
