On 30.06.2024 at 20:00, I booked a flight with THY using a stretcher service for 7 tickets, supported by a fully signed doctor's report. When I arrived at the D21 special services check-in, the staff members e*** b**** and h*****k****** informed me that my report did not mention stretcher transport and that I needed to renew it.
Despite explaining that it was impossible and that I had obtained the ticket directly from the THY Izmir office by showing all the reports, they insisted that they could not accept the passenger without the specific mention of stretcher transport in the report. For half an hour, even with the hospital assistant confirming the sufficiency of the report, they made my mother, who had undergone spinal surgery, wait unnecessarily.
Eventually, they allowed us to proceed, stating that we could fly since no updated information had arrived. How can staff at the special services counter of an institution like THY be so incompetent? It was an incredibly poor and distressing experience. We are still waiting to board the plane.
Shame on THY. Stop using slogans like 'Feel like stars,' as they are meaningless now. If THY has reached this state, the quality of the staff is truly concerning.
