On November 29, 2023, I went to Esenboga Airport with my family to fly from Ankara to Uganda. My reservation number is S4A777. Since I was assigned as a military attaché and needed to carry many suitcases and bags, I called Turkish Airlines Customer Service to get information before the trip. The call was made on November 19, 2023, at 23:35, which can be verified from the records. I was informed by customer service that I could distribute my allowed baggage into different suitcases as long as I did not exceed the weight limit, but additional bags should not exceed the 23 kg limit. I then weighed and arranged the bags for myself, my spouse, and my children to ensure they did not exceed the limit (a total of 2*3*23 kg for me and my spouse, and 2*2*23 kg for the children). I prepared the extra bags, each weighing 23 kg, for the flight. At the Esenboga Airport counter, the staff informed me that my spouse's baggage should be in 3 pieces, but it was in 4 pieces. I explained that while the number of pieces might be more, the total weight limit of 23*3=69 kg was not exceeded. Since it was not possible to fit the 4 pieces into 3 at the airport, I was told I had to pay an extra baggage fee of ₺5,927. I paid the requested fee. Besides this payment, I paid for 11 additional extra baggage fees. I applied to the THY feedback center regarding my complaint. Although it was acknowledged that incorrect information was provided, I was informed that no refund would be made. My application numbers are TK-9928174, TK-9965071, and TK-9977659, which can be found in the records. In this context, I request a refund of the ₺5,927 extra baggage fee that I paid due to the incorrect information provided by customer service.
