Unfair Charge by Turkish Airlines for Ticket Change
I am a military personnel stationed in Iraq. Our leaves are never confirmed in advance. Therefore, I purchased a ticket on December 31, 2023, for a Şırnak-Istanbul transfer, then from Istanbul to Izmir. While making the payment, I opted for the free change option, considering my leave date might change, and paid ₺2942 on October 16, 2023. On December 19, 2023, my leave date was confirmed, and I called Turkish Airlines at 444 0 849 to request a date change to December 20, 2023, for the same route. They informed me that I needed to pay an additional ₺2018 for the date change. Since there was no other airline available, I had to accept this. When I checked the ticket prices, I saw that the tickets were ₺4000; however, I ended up paying a total of ₺5000 for the original and changed ticket. They said they couldn't help. It saddens me to see a world-renowned company like Turkish Airlines treating the money we earn under difficult conditions and provide for our families in this manner. I hope this writing is helpful. I feel that I have been wronged.
