Missed Connecting Flight with Turkish Airlines

I purchased a ticket with Turkish Airlines to travel to Basel for a meeting on the same day. Due to a 20-minute delay of my connecting flight from Ankara, I missed my flight to Basel. The first available flight was around 4 PM from Istanbul Airport, which required me to change my return ticket. Consequently, I missed my meeting in Basel and had to stay overnight. I have experienced similar situations frequently in the USA and therefore requested reimbursement for my accommodation expenses and an upgrade to business class due to the cancellation of my seat selection. In response to these reasonable requests for customer satisfaction, I received an automatic reply from a customer service representative (H****) simply stating, 'We got you there and back, what more do you want?' My expectation from Turkish Airlines is to cover my hotel expenses, as is standard practice internationally.
