Issue with Turkish Airlines Flight Check-In Process
On August 12th, I had a flight ticket from Antalya to Istanbul scheduled for 5:20 AM. I arrived at the airport at 4:20 AM but faced an issue with the digital screen, which prompted me to get in line for check-in. When it was my turn, I was informed that I needed to complete check-in 45 minutes before the flight and that my time had expired. Unaware of this requirement, I lost my ticket, for which I had paid, due to the time wasted waiting in line. If there had been additional staff and the line had not been so long, I would have made it onto the flight. Despite there still being time before the gate closed, I was told there was nothing that could be done and was handed a paper offering a discounted ticket. The earliest available flight was two days later, and I had to pay the same price of ₺1700, despite the so-called discount. This caused issues at my workplace and resulted in financial loss. I did not expect a large company like THY to cause such inconvenience. I am disappointed.
