Turkish Airlines, which proudly carries my country's flag internationally, should provide better service to its customers. The staff you choose should be more carefully selected, and your rules should be consistent across different airports.
On my flight from Istanbul Airport to Elazig on 12/08/2023 at 03:40, I carried a medium-sized suitcase with me. I passed through 4 security checkpoints without any issues. I would like to thank the staff at Istanbul Airport for this.
Return Flight: 13/08/2023 at 23:05.
However, everything changed on the return journey. At Elazig Airport, I passed through 2 security checkpoints, and no one mentioned that my suitcase was not suitable for the cabin until the final ticket check before boarding. The staff, without any prior warning, checked the ticket and then secretly told another employee, 'We caught a fool.' They then approached us and said, 'Your suitcase is not suitable for the cabin,' and demanded a fee of 1 kg X 45 ₺, totaling 1530 ₺. I suggested checking the suitcase at the entrance, but they refused, saying, 'You can't pass money here,' and did not accept the suitcase. They said, 'If we take it, we can only take it for a fee.' Another employee then said, 'Either check your suitcase or leave it here,' and argued with me and my family in front of all the passengers without offering any solution. They even charged for a small suitcase, despite it being within the allowed size, and did not check the size and weight of any other passenger's luggage. The staff with inflated egos should not be part of a company like yours. I expect you to take the necessary actions. This incident ruined an otherwise pleasant trip. Turkish Airlines, this did not suit you.
