Turkish Airlines Demanded an Extra ₺4,000 for The Luggage
On December 3, 2023, I booked a round-trip ticket to Belgrade using my miles through the Turkish Airlines app. On December 31, 2023, I traveled with my cabin luggage on a flight from Istanbul with Turkish Airlines. On my return journey, I was informed at Belgrade airport that my cabin luggage did not meet the cabin luggage standards. I have traveled to numerous countries including Thailand, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and the UK with this same luggage without any issues. This was the first time I encountered such a problem. They demanded an extra ₺4,000 for the luggage. When I expressed my unwillingness to pay this fee, they stated it was not their problem. When I contacted Turkish Airlines customer service, they told me there was nothing they could do and that I had to make the payment, instead of resolving the issue. I have been traveling with Turkish Airlines for many years, but this is the first time I have witnessed such a lack of customer focus. I am paying the ₺4,000 and heading to the plane. I do not think I will travel with a company that does not stand behind its customers from now on. As soon as I return, I will file complaints with all relevant platforms.
