I Missed My Connecting Flight Due to the Delay by Turkish Airlines

Dear friends,
I want to share how I was inconvenienced by our national pride, Turkish Airlines.
For the first time in my life, I traveled abroad. I went to America. On my return, I flew from Dulles Airport to Frankfurt with United Airlines on December 17th. From Frankfurt, I was supposed to take a connecting Turkish Airlines flight (TK1588) to Istanbul. My flight was scheduled for 12:00, but it was delayed by 3 hours. The counter staff said it was due to a 'technical issue,' while the flight attendants said it was due to 'weather conditions.' The flight took off at 15:09, landed at 20:14, and parked at 20:30. We didn't see any adverse weather conditions, and I waited for my luggage.

Following this flight, I was supposed to take a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Adana at 20:40. Unfortunately, I missed this flight due to the delay. Without a SIM card in my phone, I desperately searched for a Turkish Airlines staff member. I went to the ticket sales section and explained my situation, stating, 'The Turkish Airlines flight was delayed, causing me to miss my connecting Turkish Airlines flight.' They wanted to sell me a new ticket, claiming there was no connecting flight. I insisted it was due to the Turkish Airlines delay, but they wouldn't listen. The staff sold me a ticket for the 12:40 Turkish Airlines flight the next day and suggested I go to the counter to put myself on standby for an earlier flight.

At D38, I approached a Turkish Airlines staff member, explaining my situation. I told them I had already bought a new ticket, had no place to stay, and no SIM card in my phone. I asked to be sent to Adana on the first available flight. Despite having a new ticket, they said, 'We can put you on standby, but if a seat becomes available, you will need to pay for it.'

So, friends, due to the delay of a Turkish Airlines flight, I missed my next Turkish Airlines flight and was left stranded. They sold me a ticket and demanded more money if I wanted to fly earlier. Laugh or cry, you decide! I had to wait at the airport until the 12:40 flight the next day. I couldn't find a single Turkish Airlines official. No one said, 'Sir, our company won't leave you stranded; let's find someone in charge immediately.' I felt so sad about the helplessness caused by my country's airline. Can you understand the despair I felt?

To the officials reading this, what would you do in my situation? Is this customer satisfaction? Is this how our national airline takes care of its citizens? These are the questions I want to ask.

For the first time in my life, I traveled abroad and returned as a victim of Turkish Airlines!

I have not received any response from Tyh. It has been 3 days since my complaint. I will provide updates as developments occur.

An email came from Turkish Airlines, stating, 'We have determined that you were not accepted for the flight because you did not arrive at the boarding gate on time for the TK2470 Istanbul/Adana flight on December 17, 2023, with a departure time of 20:40.' Your plane can be 3 hours and 9 minutes late, no problem. I arrive late at the gate because of your delay, and it's my fault. Really interesting, zero value for people.
