I frequently fly with Turkish Airlines... I will never forget the night of 22.06.2024! Turkish Airlines support, which is supposed to provide support, was anything but supportive! After an incident in Mardin, I received a notification from the Turkish Airlines mobile app... My flight was delayed by 35 minutes, and I had already been waiting at Istanbul Airport for 6 hours. When I saw the delay, I went to the restroom, which was not far from gate F6... When I returned, the gate was closed! 20 minutes earlier. A lady at the Turkish Airlines support area greeted me and blamed me without listening.
I was already upset and my flight was missed. On top of that, she yelled and spoke loudly, saying I should have been there 20 minutes earlier. I was there at 19:00, and no one was around. People started gathering later. I received a notification at 20:09 that boarding time was 21:05, so I went and came back, but the gate closed at 20:53... 20 minutes earlier... Turkish Airlines was delayed by 35 minutes, so how was this my fault?
The lady at Turkish Airlines support told me I could never fly with Turkish Airlines again and then told me to wait there while she checked the cameras. I waited for 10 minutes, but I didn't want to see her face anymore! I went to the other side, where a gentleman listened to me and said they would help. Later, he came back and said his colleagues checked the cameras and accused me of lying!
They told me to buy another ticket! Just as the lady had said, because they claimed I was lying! I've never seen such disrespect. In the end, my flight was missed, and I had to buy another ticket. First of all, you don't talk to people like that! Turkish Airlines was delayed, not me! If the flight had departed at 20:30, I would have been home sleeping peacefully. I'm asthmatic and was crying constantly, alone, with no one to help, and they only blamed me.
The lady even threw a paper at me, saying I could complain wherever I wanted. I reached out to the global Turkey number, where a kind lady named i** calmed me down a bit. I was left stranded and realized once again that humanity is lost! People only care about money... I've been flying with Turkish Airlines for many years and have never encountered such a situation.
