Turkish Airlines Customer Service, my name is Karina and I experienced a significant disappointment regarding my flight TK2573 scheduled for 28.10.2023. The flight was a night trip from Dalaman to Helsinki.
Without any prior notification or explanation, I learned that my flight was canceled 5 hours before departure. Unfortunately, there were no alternative flights available. Consequently, I had to reschedule my flight from Izmir, which took place the next day.
I was traveling with my pet, and based on the information provided, my ticket was changed free of charge. However, an additional ₺507 was requested for my pet. Despite having already paid the pet fee, I was required to pay again due to the change in the airport.
Due to the ticket change, my travel time was extended by 8 hours, making my journey quite troublesome. Additionally, the extra fee for my pet is unacceptable.
I waited at least 1 hour to reach customer service, and when my call was finally answered, the response to my negative experience was dismissive. Blaming me for the flight cancellation increased my distress.
For the past 20 years, I have traveled with Turkish Airlines 5-8 times a year, but the recent decline in service quality has led me to consider other airlines.
In such situations, at least a small refund could be expected. However, instead, I was charged an additional fee.
I request an explanation regarding this experience and compensation for the inconvenience I faced.
