SunExpress Canceled My Manchester-Izmir Flight on Short Notice, Causing Significant Financial Loss

94

My Manchester to Izmir flight with SunExpress on September 5th was canceled on August 15th, less than 20 days before departure. I live in Scotland and had already purchased a train ticket to get to Manchester, but since the cancellation was notified less than 30 days before the flight, I am unable to cancel or modify my train ticket, resulting in a total loss. Additionally, due to personal and health reasons, I need to be in Turkey on that specific date, so I was forced to book another flight from a different airline within the 20-day window, costing me twice as much as I would normally pay.

I bought my ticket from SunExpress a year ago, and I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. Customer service has been unhelpful, unable to escalate the issue to higher management, and only advised me to fill out a form. I did submit the form, and it has been almost 20 days with no response or compensation for my losses. I have flown with SunExpress multiple times and never encountered such an issue before. This has been a truly frustrating experience, feeling like I paid to be inconvenienced. I request that SunExpress take responsibility and compensate me for the financial losses caused by this last-minute cancellation.
