SunExpress Airlines Canceled My Flight Without Proper Notice Causing Extra Expenses
On December 19, 2024, my SunExpress flight XQ8354 from Çukurova Airport to Yenişehir Bursa Airport, which was supposed to depart at 8:40 AM, faced a delay of two hours, followed by an additional four-hour delay, and ultimately was cancelled. We were left in the dark about these changes, resulting in hours of waiting at the airport. This led to extra costs for me, such as buying tickets from a different airline to get to Istanbul, along with the price differences and the stress that came with the whole situation. When I reached out to the company, I was informed that only the ticket cost would be refunded, without any additional explanation provided. They stated that weather conditions in Bursa were to blame, yet the staff at Yenişehir Airport confirmed there were no weather problems. The underlying issue appears to be low passenger numbers, which the airline kept hidden. Who is going to take responsibility for the financial losses and emotional distress that this experience has caused?
