On 28.06.2025, I purchased a ticket for the 19:05 Sunexpress flight from London Gatwick Airport. The day before the flight, I completed my check-in and paid 746₺ for an 8 kg cabin baggage allowance, as I had additional items beyond my free small bag entitlement.
However, when I arrived at the airport, a staff member named J*** and another unnamed female staff member treated me extremely rudely. They claimed my cabin baggage weighed 12 kg and insisted I pay for the full 12 kg rather than the 4 kg excess. Despite my offer to pay only for the excess weight, they threatened to prevent me from boarding unless I paid the full amount. Under duress, I had no choice but to comply.
To make matters worse, the female staff member falsely claimed that none of my cards worked, although I knew they contained sufficient funds. Eventually, a kind gentleman nearby paid £80 on my behalf, and I later transferred the equivalent amount to him.
I am deeply distressed by this financial and emotional ordeal. I demand a full refund of the £80 unfairly charged, as well as a formal apology for the unacceptable behavior of your Gatwick staff. The stark difference in professionalism between your UK and Turkey teams is appalling.
