I Paid Twice for SunExpress Extra Baggage and Demand a Refund of the ₺250 Airport Charge
On July 9, 2024, just two days before my SunExpress flight on July 11, I purchased an extra 25 kg baggage allowance online for €35, and the payment was successfully processed from my account. However, when I arrived at the airport for my flight, I was told that this payment did not appear in their system. As a result, I was forced to pay an additional ₺250 at the airport to check in my baggage — despite having already paid for it days earlier.
I immediately raised this issue with the Dispatch department at the airport, and they told me I had no choice but to pay the second time and follow up later with a complaint to request a refund. I also contacted SunExpress customer service multiple times, only to receive delayed responses and no helpful resolution. Eventually, SunExpress refunded the original €35 online payment, but that completely misses the point — I should not have been charged ₺250 at the airport in the first place.
I am requesting a full investigation into this billing error and demand a refund of the ₺250 I was wrongly forced to pay. This situation caused unnecessary stress and financial loss, and I expect SunExpress to take responsibility and resolve this promptly.
