On April 3, 2024, we purchased a pair of Skechers Arch Fit Baxter Pendroy shoes from the Marmara Park Skechers store on behalf of my father. After about one year of regular use, both shoes developed the exact same problem: the seams on the side of the toe area started splitting in the very same spot. Considering the usage time and manner, this clearly points to a manufacturing or material defect rather than user error.
We first submitted the shoes for inspection through the Skechers store at Cevahir Mall, as the product is still under warranty. However, the inspection report came back stating that there was “no manufacturing defect.” The explanation given suggested user-related causes such as “car pedal friction” or “escalator rubbing.” These are speculative assumptions, not objective technical findings, and they are unacceptable. Both shoes failing in the exact same location is not a coincidence—it is clear evidence of a flaw in design or production quality. The shoes were used strictly as intended, and no misuse occurred.
As of yesterday, we resubmitted the product for a second inspection and are now awaiting the results. The shoes are still under legal warranty, and the invoice number is 1-R-7-9881739, with payment made by credit card.
I demand that Skechers acknowledge this as a quality defect, honor the warranty, and either repair or replace the shoes without further delay. Customers should not be blamed for poor workmanship or weak materials, especially on a premium-priced product.
