Qatar Airways' Inadequate Customer Service and Baggage Allowance Issue
On July 3rd, my boyfriend and I encountered a problem before our flight in Ankara. As international students, we bought our tickets with a 10% discount through the student club on June 20, 2023. We knew that student club members have an extra 10kg baggage allowance. My boyfriend's student club membership was acknowledged in the system, and he used his 10kg free baggage allowance. However, my student club membership couldn't be found, and despite my entitlement, I couldn't use my 10kg free baggage allowance. As a result, we were kept waiting at the check-in counter for almost 2 hours and had to pay $660+$360 to avoid missing the flight. This issue wasn't resolved at Esenboğa Airport, and they didn't try to assist us. We were told to go to customer service upon arrival in Qatar. We expressed our refund request and were asked to send an email. Now, we have received a denial response from the company. This is an extremely unfair practice and goes against passenger rights. We hope that the company will provide proper compensation.
