GYM Factory Charged My Credit Card Without Authorization
I joined the GYM Factory branch in Konyaaltı, Antalya, together with my nephew, solely for the purpose of working out for one month while we were in Turkey. I paid 3,999 TL + 3,999 TL, for a total of approximately $164. At the time of registration, I specifically stated that we would only be paying for one month of membership and use. We also did not sign any contract or membership form.
Approximately two months later, on August 13, I noticed that my credit card had been charged twice for 3,999 TL, for a total of 7,998 TL, even though I had made no commitment or given any authorization for these charges and had not been informed about them. On my bank statement, the transactions appeared as “pending authorization” under the name Paytr/FJORDIC teknol, with Ankara listed as the location.
After noticing these unauthorized charges, I went to the GYM Factory Konyaaltı branch in person and explained the situation. I was told to send an email, which I did immediately, but I never received any response to my email and was unable to reach anyone who would take responsibility for the matter. I therefore contacted my bank, had my card canceled, and the bank also initiated a process to recover the unauthorized charges.
Although the only agreement between GYM Factory and me was that I would pay for one month of use, I do not accept these charges being made to my card without my authorization, signature, or prior notification. I therefore request a full refund of the 7,998 TL, approximately $164, charged to my card on August 13, and I also request that my membership and all of my card information be completely deleted from GYM Factory's systems to prevent anything similar from happening again.
