Europcar Charges Excessive $443 Fee for Minor Bumper Scratch in Chios

Between July 11 and July 16, 2026, I rented a Seat Ibiza through Europcar on Chios Island. Upon returning the vehicle, an inspection report was logged together with the agent, and damage was noted for what I can truly describe as a tiny scratch on the rear taillight/bumper area. Citing this minor scratch as justification, they informed me that they would not refund $333 from my deposit, and they additionally charged $110 to my credit card, collecting a total of $443.
I believe this amount is completely exorbitant and unfair relative to the size of the scratch and the overall condition of the vehicle. Furthermore, no detailed explanation, repair invoice, or itemized cost breakdown was provided regarding this charge; I was simply forced to pay this amount. My rental agreement/reservation number is 732285972.
I have also submitted a support request through Booking.com and am currently waiting for a response. I demand that Europcar reduce this damage fee to a reasonable level, refund all or a significant portion of the amount I consider unfair, and adopt a more transparent and fair pricing policy for minor damage.
