Agoda Refund Denied After Laurel Hotel Overbooking
I made a reservation via Agoda for a family room at Laurel Hotel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, for the dates 17–18 October and paid ₺1,901.38 in advance. On the evening of 17 October, when I went to the hotel to check in, the hotel staff told me that the hotel was full and, due to overbooking, they could not accept me and refused my stay. In order not to be left outside at night in a foreign country, I had to urgently find and pay for another hotel with my own means. In my written correspondence with Laurel Hotel, they clearly stated that no payment related to this reservation had reached them, that the money was being held by Agoda, and that I needed to contact Agoda for a refund. After this, I contacted Agoda and tried to reach support multiple times, but for about a week no refund has been made to me. Each time I enter the live support chat, I only receive an automatic message saying that they are very busy, and no concrete solution or real support representative is provided. As a result, I neither received the accommodation service I paid for, nor was my payment refunded. I request that the amount of ₺1,901.38 for my reservation number 1787100630 be refunded to me as soon as possible, without any deductions, and that my grievance due to being left without accommodation and having to pay for another hotel be remedied.
