I booked a stay in Rhodes, Greece through Booking.com for July 14–17, 2025. At the time of reservation, I specifically chose an option that stated all taxes and fees were included in the price. Trusting the platform, I completed the full payment, assuming there would be no surprise charges later on.

However, upon arriving at the hotel, I was shocked to find out that we were asked to pay an additional €10 per night as a “local accommodation tax” — a cost I had already paid in advance through Booking.com. This unexpected expense added up to €30, which was completely unfair. Despite Booking.com claiming to include taxes in the final price, they failed to cover this mandatory Greek government charge.

I tried contacting Booking.com customer service several times about this issue, but they have been completely unresponsive. It’s unacceptable for a company this big to ignore legitimate complaints and not honor their payment promises.

I urge Booking.com to refund the extra tax amount immediately and to stop misleading customers about what their payments cover. I also advise others to double-check all costs before finalizing any bookings through Booking.com — they clearly do not stand behind their “tax included” claims.
