Eurowings Changed My Gate Without Notifying Me and I Missed My Flight
On August 22, 2026, I arrived at Çukurova Airport on time for my Eurowings flight to Stuttgart, which was scheduled to depart at 4:15 AM. I completed my check-in without any problems and checked in my luggage. I then went to the gate clearly indicated on my boarding pass and waited to board the aircraft.
Although I was not late and had not violated any rules, the boarding gate was changed without any written notification, SMS, email, or verbal announcement being provided to me. No information about the gate change was displayed either at the airport or at the gate where I was waiting. As a result, it was effectively impossible for me to become aware of the change, and I missed my flight entirely due to circumstances that were completely beyond my control.
After I missed the flight, there was no staff member at the airport to assist me or help resolve the situation. I was left to deal with the consequences on my own. In order to continue my journey and prevent my plans from being completely disrupted, I was forced to purchase a new ticket from Pegasus for approximately $619. This was an extremely high price compared with what I would normally have paid, and this expense was entirely caused by the failure of Eurowings and the ground-handling staff to properly inform me about the gate change. Even though I had checked in my luggage for the Eurowings flight, my luggage was sent to Stuttgart while I was not allowed to board the aircraft.
When I arrived in Stuttgart, I could not locate my luggage at the airport, even though it had traveled on the flight I was unable to board. My luggage was not delivered to me for approximately 36 hours. It contained medication that I needed to use during my trip, and being unable to access it for such an extended period caused me additional hardship and concern. Both the failure to properly communicate the flight information and the delay in handling my baggage caused me significant stress and inconvenience throughout my trip.
I had not been negligent in any way and had fulfilled all of my responsibilities on time, yet I suffered serious financial and personal hardship as a result of this situation. Regarding my reservation with PNR number SQMY3E, I request that Eurowings thoroughly investigate what happened and fully reimburse me for the approximately $619 I was forced to spend on a replacement ticket from Pegasus. I also request appropriate compensation for the personal hardship and distress I experienced as a result of the problems with the flight and baggage handling.
I believe responsibility lies with the airline and the ground-handling service, which are responsible for providing passengers with timely and accurate information and ensuring that their baggage is handled and delivered properly. I expect my complaint to be resolved as soon as possible and appropriate measures to be taken to prevent similar situations from happening to other passengers.
