I made a reservation for the Rome Experience Hostel in Rome through Booking. When I arrived at the address, I found a hotel that had absolutely nothing to do with the photos I had seen. They gave me a room without a door (yes, without a door). When I objected (in 42-degree heat), they gave me a room with no air conditioning but at least it had a door. I reluctantly accepted the sweltering heat, only to find out that this time, the door had no handle (yes, no handle). It was nothing short of a barn, not a hostel!
When I complained to Booking for a refund on the same day, they suggested contacting the hostel directly. Of course, the hostel didn't even bother to respond. Why would they?
Booking should stand by the customer here. After all, I purchased the hostel through Booking. I immediately proved with photos how disgraceful the place they sold me was and how unrelated it was to what I bought. It's a complete scam, and Booking should refund me for the hostel and not send payment to them. Yet, they took no action against the hostel and refused to refund me. They simply sell the listings and don't stand by the customer even in such scam situations. Never!
Despite receiving numerous complaints about this hostel, Booking continues to sell it. I demand a refund for this disgraceful experience (£37.75 - confirmation number: 3711474069).
