Booking Host Canceled My Rome Reservation But No Refund Was Issued Since June

On January 22, 2025, we made a reservation through Booking.com for a house in Rome for our travel dates: July 6–10, 2025. To secure the booking, we confirmed the reservation with a credit card hold on January 24, 2025.

However, on June 3, 2025, the host unexpectedly canceled our reservation. Even though the cancellation came from their side, we never received any refund of the amount that was previously blocked on our credit card.

We immediately filed a complaint with Booking.com and were asked to provide more details. Despite explaining everything—multiple times and with full documentation—we never received a response. Not a single follow-up or update.

This is unacceptable. The cancellation was not our fault, yet we were left without a place to stay and without our money. I demand that Booking.com issue a full refund immediately and take responsibility for the lack of communication and support. This kind of silence from a major platform is deeply disappointing and must be addressed.
