Booking.com Charges Customer R756 for Reservation That System Marked as Failed

I made an online booking through Booking.com for Imali in East London for the night of 1 September 2026. The first attempt to book failed on the system, so I believed the reservation had not gone through and I then booked again at one of their other guest houses and stayed there for the night. Later I discovered that I had in fact been charged for the failed booking at Imali as well, and an amount of R756 was deducted from my account even though I never stayed there and had already used the other guest house for my accommodation. I tried to contact Booking.com by phone but could not get any response, and when I informed the guest house they said they would assist, but nothing has happened so far and the issue remains unresolved. I request a full refund of the R756 taken for the Imali booking on 1 September 2026, as I did not use that booking and only stayed at the other guest house. I kindly ask that this matter be investigated and my refund processed as soon as possible.
