Booking Confirmed Rate Changed Without Notice, Forced to Pay Higher Price

On August 6, 2025, I booked a stay through Booking.com at Zel Home 7 Double Bed in Baku, Azerbaijan for September 11–14. The confirmed price was 8 EUR, and I immediately received my booking confirmation via both Booking.com and email (Confirmation No: 5663****98, PIN: 0975).

However, on September 6, when I contacted the property to reconfirm my stay, the host informed me that the price was actually 65 AZN (~55 EUR) and refused to honor the confirmed 8 EUR rate. This was done without any prior notice or approval from me. I reported the issue to Booking.com customer service, but I never received a response or assistance.

As a result, just 4 days before my trip, I was forced to book another accommodation at the higher rate of 55 EUR, incurring an unexpected loss of 47 EUR. This was both stressful and unfair, especially since I relied on Booking.com’s confirmation as a guarantee.

I am requesting:

An official apology from Booking.com.

Compensation or a discount equal to the 47 EUR difference I was forced to pay.

A review of this property to prevent similar cases of misleading pricing for other customers.

Booking.com should ensure that confirmed reservations are honored at the agreed price, not arbitrarily changed by the property at the customer’s expense.
