I bought an ASUS TUF laptop on September 22, 2023. It has an RTX 4050 graphics card, an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, a 144Hz screen, and 8GB of RAM. I'm an engineering student and I rely a lot on programs like Solidworks and AutoCAD. I ended up spending around ₺33,000 on them, paying in monthly installments over a year. Since the beginning, I've been dealing with CPU spikes that shoot up to 100%. This causes my computer to freeze, crash, and even restart on its own. I tried reaching out to ASUS support multiple times, but their solutions were not helpful. All they suggested was resetting the laptop, which didn't solve the problem.
I had to restart the laptop about 11-12 times today. Each time, I ran into different problems, whether it was with Win11 or the graphics card not being recognized. I was really frustrated on October 28, 2023, because I had to send my laptop to the ASUS Technical Service. This happened while I was juggling work and studies. I didn't have a computer for 15-20 days, so I ended up falling behind in my schoolwork and job.
When I got the laptop on November 11, 2023, I found some scratches that the technical service said were there. It didn't make sense because the laptop was basically new. I was really surprised when I opened the box and saw that the laptop wasn't packaged properly. It was moving around inside, and the keyboard had stains and fingerprints that looked like coffee spills. Also, the charger that I took great care of for the past month came back all dusty and scratched up. To make matters worse, the laptop got reset and now it has Win11 installed.
