Yapi Kredi Failed to Correct Credit Records After Full Debt Payment
On September 20, 2024, I opened an overdraft (KMH) account with a limit of about $1,550 at Yapı Kredi Bankası A.Ş. to cover my school-related expenses. At a later stage, I was informed that a collection/default record had been mistakenly created due to a payment for which I had never received any notification. When the bank’s collections department informed me of this situation, I paid the full outstanding amount on September 10, 2025, and my debt was completely settled. I was also verbally informed that I had no remaining balance or debt.
Later on, through my Findeks credit reports and notifications from other banks, I discovered that this same KMH account was reflected in Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) inquiry records as if there were three separate debts. Currently, the inquiry system shows three separate default records related to the same KMH account—one marked as closed and two still appearing as open.
Despite speaking multiple times with Yapı Kredi Bank customer representatives and presenting my Findeks reports, they stated that these records did not appear in their system and did not take action. Even after submitting a formal complaint through the bank’s customer service channels, no solution was provided. Although I clearly stated that I would file complaints with BDDK and CİMER, these warnings were also ignored.
My customer number is 71240192. Both I and my family own a commercial company, and due to these incorrect default records, we are experiencing serious difficulties in all of our company’s banking transactions. Our company, which has nearly 20 years of history and approximately 50 employees, is suffering reputational and financial harm due to the bank’s arbitrary and indifferent handling of this issue.
I request that Yapı Kredi Bank urgently correct the incorrect default records related to my KMH account in the Central Bank and Findeks systems, immediately close the records that still appear as open, and remedy the damages and hardship I have suffered as a result of this situation.
