Akbank Failed to Refund Ticket Payment Error
On November 3, 2025, I attempted to purchase a ticket for the Ankara–Sivas high-speed train line via the TCDD website. During the ticket purchase process, I encountered errors four times and was only able to complete the purchase on my fifth attempt. After each transaction, I received messages indicating that payments had been withdrawn from my account. TCDD also sent messages stating that the withdrawn amounts were immediately refunded. However, on November 4, 2025, when I checked the transaction history of my Akbank credit card (last four digits: 2442), I noticed that out of the five transactions—four of which were invalid—only three had been refunded, and one refund was still missing. The unreturned amount is ₺1,580. I contacted both TCDD’s customer service and WhatsApp support, as well as Akbank’s mobile app and customer service, to resolve the issue. TCDD continued to send messages claiming all refunds had been made, while Akbank insisted I contact TCDD. I also submitted a dispute through the Akbank mobile app but have yet to receive any response. This issue remains unresolved, and it’s the first time I’ve encountered such a problem. I request a refund of the missing ₺1,580 and an official apology for the inconvenience caused.
