Turkish Airlines TK7171 Flight Delay and Ticket Issue
On April 20, 2023, my Turkish Airlines flight TK7171 from Dalaman to Şanlıurfa via Ankara, scheduled to depart at 05:50, was delayed by 40 minutes, making it impossible for me to catch my connecting flight from Ankara to Şanlıurfa. On the night of the flight delay, I called customer service and was told I needed to go to Dalaman Airport for a solution. At the Turkish Airlines office in Dalaman Airport, I was informed that there were no alternative flights available that day. Since I had to be at my workplace the next day, I followed the advice of the staff at the Turkish Airlines office and had my ticket put on hold. I then had to travel to Şanlıurfa by private taxi and bus. The Turkish Airlines office provided me with a document (attached) stating that my flight was on hold and that I had a free change right. Despite the 20-hour journey to Şanlıurfa due to the flight delay, Turkish Airlines is not allowing me to use the ticket that was put on hold. For about a month, I have been trying to use my open ticket by contacting customer service via phone and the feedback form on their website. However, I can't even find someone to address my issue, let alone solve it. My feedback reference number is TK-10417100. In the latest email, I was told to create a flight reservation and provide the reservation number so they could allocate the flight to me. I created the reservation at my own expense, but there has been no further response. As I fight against this injustice, Turkish Airlines continues to waste both my time and money, exacerbating my distress.
