Turkish Airlines TK1704 Wheelchair Issue
TK1704 STR-Istanbul on 21.07.24 was a problematic flight, where do I even begin? The plane supposedly arrived 40 minutes late in STR. We had requested a wheelchair for my mother well in advance due to her knee surgery, but she was the last to be taken. Shortly after being taken, they boarded her onto the plane and the nightmare began; they were kept waiting on the plane for several hours, citing weather conditions, which was untrue as other planes were taking off and landing. The flight that was supposed to depart at 15:15 took off around 19:00. After landing in Istanbul, the nightmare continued. My mother was taken off the plane and left somewhere with the instruction to 'wait, someone will pick you up.' Unbelievably, my mother left the airport exactly 10 hours later. This is the second time this has happened to my mother in Istanbul. The airport is very large and absolutely disorganized, how can people be treated this way? Have some compassion, she is 80 years old and shouldn't have to go through this, as if she is traveling for free. What is the point of having such a large airport if it cannot be managed?
