Turkish Airlines' Staff's Rude Communication During a Flight
On August 11, 2023, at 16:05, I arrived at Ferit Melen Airport with my 16-year-old son for the THY Van/Istanbul flight. We got in line for check-in and baggage drop-off. The staff member handling our process rudely and inappropriately communicated that our hand luggage exceeded the weight limit, despite us being two people. Later, we proceeded to wait at the gate for boarding. During this time, one of the staff members who had previously argued with us began checking the hand luggage of passengers waiting at the gate, weighing some of them and asking them to remove excess items. This led to an altercation with another passenger, causing the woman to start crying and shouting. Security personnel intervened. Despite the boarding announcement, the argument continued, creating a highly tense atmosphere. This behavior is not fitting for THY, which prides itself on principled customer satisfaction.
