Turkish Airlines Sold My Paid Seat to Someone Else
On my September 10th flight TK 1957 from Amsterdam with THY, I purchased two seats in the front row for extra legroom when I bought my ticket. I also used 4200 miles for these seats.
I received a confirmation email with my ticket and seat numbers. On September 9th, I checked in with these seat numbers. However, on the day of the flight, I was shocked to find out that my boarding passes were for free seats one row behind. When I explained the situation to the ground staff, they rudely said it must be because I didn't pay. After showing the email proof of payment, I was told to resolve it in Amsterdam.
Onboard, I explained the situation to the flight attendant, who called the same staff member. He again rudely said there was nothing he could do and to resolve it with the main office. I emailed my complaint to the main office, but they responded with an apology and 1000 bonus miles, claiming it was a 'mandatory operational change,' without refunding my 4200 miles. I question what mandatory reason required giving my seats to the women who sat in front of me.
The women in front of me seemed to have an enjoyable flight, unlike me and my child, who both have health issues. I am registered as disabled with THY and always purchase front row seats for extra space.
Additionally, my brand-new suitcase arrived with broken corners and unusable wheels. I am very dissatisfied with the rude behavior of your staff and request that my grievances be addressed promptly.
