THY Baggage Delay and Lack of Responsibility

I wasn't planning to write about this here, but after my last international flight, I decided to share my experience. I wanted to highlight how indifferent and unhelpful THY has become. For the October 11 JFK-IST flight, I arrived at New York airport at 00:00 with my 7-month pregnant wife (with a doctor's note) and my 6-year-old son for our 07:00 morning flight. Unfortunately, we arrived early, and the midnight flight had not yet departed. We noticed there were plenty of seats available (checked online) and asked the officials if we could be accommodated on that flight. Initially, they agreed, but after the THY representative arrived, they demanded $500 per person. We refused and decided to wait. We waited for 7 hours, and the flight eventually took off 2 hours late at 09:00. Additionally, just as we were about to board, an official claimed my wife's medical note was expired and prevented us from boarding, making us wait for the police as if we were criminals until we obtained a new note. They also broke two of our suitcases and blamed us, saying they were already broken. When I asked how I managed to bring a pregnant wife, a child, and four suitcases without wheels, they had no answer. We filed a complaint in Istanbul for the damage to our luggage. They initially said they would compensate us for our Samsonite luggage, but later closed the case saying they wouldn't pay. I wouldn't have written this if it weren't for my second flight from Denmark to Ankara with a layover. None of the flights departed on time. To avoid baggage issues, I took a carry-on, which had weight problems. On the return, the Ankara flight was delayed by 1.5 hours. While trying to check in for my connecting flight, the app kept showing errors. I tried reaching the call center, but they dismissed me, saying there were no seats left. Finally, I asked an airport official for help, and they managed to check me in, saying if I had been 5 minutes later, there would have been no seats left. In conclusion, you are losing your reputation as a good company, and I hope you get your act together.
