Turkish Airlines Lost My Luggage on Flight to New York and Refused Full Compensation
On September 27, 2024, I flew from Istanbul to New York on Turkish Airlines flight at 1:45 PM for work. Upon arriving at JFK, I discovered my luggage was lost. When I contacted Turkish Airlines, they claimed they couldn’t locate my luggage or provide a timeline for delivery.
I was stranded in rainy weather wearing flip-flops and had to purchase essentials the next day, as I had no shoes, clothing, or even a hairbrush. Despite submitting receipts totaling $700, Turkish Airlines only deemed a reimbursement of around $200 appropriate. A single pair of Nike sneakers costs $150 alone.
I demand immediate reimbursement for the full amount and a proper resolution from Turkish Airlines. This is unacceptable.
