Turkish Airlines Los Angeles - Istanbul Flight Delayed by 5 Hours 32 Minutes

The TK0010 Los Angeles-Istanbul flight, which was scheduled to depart at 18:35 on 01.08.2023, was delayed by 5 hours and 32 minutes. Initially, all passengers were boarded, but after the plane moved on the ground, it returned to the gate, and all passengers were disembarked and taken to the waiting lounge. After waiting for a while, we boarded the plane again, and it finally took off 5 hours and 32 minutes later. During this process, the explanations provided by the captain or other officials were insufficient, leaving passengers in uncertainty. Due to this long delay, I missed my connecting Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Izmir at 23:00 on 02.08.2023. Since the next available flight was in the morning, I had to spend the night at the airport, and despite my request, Turkish Airlines did not provide me with accommodation. This situation caused me emotional and physical distress, and because I arrived very late at my destination, many of my work plans were disrupted. Consequently, I faced significant difficulties at my workplace. I experienced serious inconvenience due to this long delay. My compensation claim through Turkish Airlines customer service was rejected. If my grievance is not alleviated with the compensation I am entitled to, I will pursue legal action.
